The offer of study stays for doctoral students is based on contractual obligations between the Czechia and the partner country. Applicants are free to find their own host university in the context of their field of study.

In the first phase, applicants apply to the Czech partner – the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MoEYS). Applicants submit an online scholarship application with the required attachments in Czech by the specified deadline (see below). MoEYS will confirm whether the applicant are to be included in the list of nominated candidates and if so, will inform the applicant on further processing of their application. MoEYS will instruct the nominated candidates to register via the online portal "Study in Egypt" within the set deadlines; documents listed below are required for registration. The final decision on the acceptance of the nominated candidate rests with the foreign partner.

The scholarship is funded by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Due to the extensive deadlines for the approval of scholarship applications by the Egyptian partner, MoEYS recommends applying for scholarships for stays starting in the summer semester 2025/2026.
