Apply

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Czech Republic offers Global Korea Scholarships for foreign students to pursue a master's or doctoral degrees at Korean universities. Citizens of countries other than Czechia must apply for scholarships at the Republic of Korea diplomatic missions in their country of citizenship.

Applicants who have not yet completed their degree programme must provide proof of their education (diploma, diploma supplement, or other proof of future graduation if a diploma has not yet been issued, e.g. confirmation of the expected date of the national final examination). Therefore, bachelor's programme graduates who are currently pursuing their master's studies need to submit a copy of their bachelor's diploma (or a document proving that they have completed their university studies). Master's studies graduates need to submit a copy of their master's diploma.

The Korean partner also requires a proof of academic perforance in the form of CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) see page 11 of the manual. If the given institution does not use this system, a simple recalculation by the applicant is not accepted. The conversion of the academic results to GPA must be officially confirmed by the university, it is recommended that the applicants ask for confirmation from the study department or obtain a letter from an academic staff member guaranteeing the accuracy of the conversion. An automatized calculation of the Cumulative GPA can be done via online tools such as scholaro.com/gpa-calculator/.

During the one-year preparatory language course, the student must obtain proficiency in Korean at least at TOPIK level 3. If the applicant proves proficiency in Korean at TOPIK level 5 and above, he/she can immediately enter the study programme and the duration of the scholarship will be shortened by one year. If proficiency level 5 is achieved within the first six months, the language course will be shortened accordingly, and the studies in the study programme will begin.

The scholarships are funded by the National Institute for International Education Development under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea.
