The summer language courses for international students and teachers are organised by the Tempus Public Foundation in cooperation with local universities. The programme may include intensive language instruction (focusing on grammar and phonetics practice, vocabulary development, conversational skills, etc.) or a series of lectures on culture, history, literature and local realia. Before the course begins, students are usually divided into study groups according to their language skills, usually on the basis of a placement test. Classes, led by experienced native speakers, are often combined with an accompanying events, sucj as guided tours, visits to museums and monuments, film evenings and theatre performances. The summer courses of Hungarian language are organised annually by universities in Budapest, Debrecen, Eger, Nyíregyháza, Pécs and Szeged. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic (MoEYS) chooses and nominates candidates for the award of scholarship, these candidates are then asked to select their preferred host university and register online (see below).
Nominated candidates submit the documents required by the Hungarian partner directly via the Hungarian partner's online registration system. The list of required documents and further information on the scholarship conditions for stays in Hungary is available on the Tempus Public Foundation website.
The list of courses held in the specific year is usually provided by the Hungarian partner no earlier than January of that year.
The scholarships are funded by the Tempus Public Foundation.
