The summer language courses for international students and teachers are organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland in cooperation with local universities. The programme may include intensive language classes (focusing on grammar and phonetics practice, vocabulary development, conversational skills, etc.) or a series of lectures on culture, history, literature and local realia. Before the course begins, students are usually divided into study groups according to their language skills, usually on the based of a placement test. Classes, led by experienced native speakers, are often combined with an accompanying events such as guided tours, visits to museums and monuments, film evenings and theatre performances.
The 2025 summer schools will be held by universities in Cieszyn, Katowice, Lublin, Łódź, Poznań, Toruń, and Wrocław. The choice of the preferred host university is up to the applicant. Some of the courses are held online. Detailed information and the specific offer of summer courses for 2025 is available on the Polish partner organisation NAWA website. The individual host universities require that applicants register for their courses through the respective university registration system. Registrations on the university websites are either already open or will open soon. Scholarship applicants will also need to register for courses in this way, however their registration will only be possible after the applicant succeeded in the MoEYS selection procedure and was nominated for the scholarship award. The final decision on the scholarship award belongs to the foreign partner; the results are usually communicated by the end of March
The scholarship is funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland.
The scholarship is used to cover the participation in the course and in the accompanying events, as well as the cost of accommodation and meals. Scholarship holders do not receive any payments.
