Course description
The Lifelong Learning Program - Clinical Training Level I in the field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals is governed by Act No. 166/1999 Coll., on Veterinary Care and on Amendments to Certain Related Acts (Veterinary Act), Decree No. 331/2021 Coll., on the Organization of Education for Veterinary Physicians in Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Other Acts (Higher Education Act), as amended, the Statutes of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, the Lifelong Learning Code of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, and the Rules for Ensuring the Quality of Educational, Creative, and Related Activities and Internal Quality Evaluation of Educational, Creative, and Related Activities of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno.
The Lifelong Learning Program - Clinical Training Level I in the Field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals is organized as a voluntary education program for veterinary physicians engaged in clinical veterinary medicine. It aims to deepen the knowledge level of veterinary physicians in clinical veterinary practice. The instruction is provided by experts from the university offering an accredited master's study program in veterinary medicine or veterinary hygiene, private veterinary practitioners, and possibly other specialists in the relevant field. At the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, the program is supervised by the Internal Quality Evaluation Board, the Lifelong Learning Board at the level of lifelong learning programs, and the guarantor of the Clinical Training program at the program level.
The Lifelong Learning Program - Clinical Training Level I in the Field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals is followed by the Clinical Training Level II in the Field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals, which represents a higher level of complexity, focusing on specialized knowledge, experience, and skills.
The aim of Clinical Training Level I in the Field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals is to build upon undergraduate education leading to the qualification of veterinary physician and, following three years of professional practice in the field, to deepen education to the level of practical knowledge, experience, and skills with a focus on clinical veterinary issues in the field of Diseases of Reptiles, Exotic Birds, and Small Mammals.
