Course description
The Lifelong Education Program - Advanced Clinical Training in the Field of Exotic Bird Diseases is governed by Act No. 166/1999 Coll., on Veterinary Care and on Amendments to Certain Related Acts (the Veterinary Act), Decree No. 331/2021 Coll., on the Organization of Education for Veterinarians in Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments to Other Acts (the Higher Education Act), as amended, the Statutes of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, the Lifelong Education Regulations of the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, and the Rules for Ensuring the Quality of Educational, Creative, and Related Activities and Internal Quality Evaluation of Educational, Creative, and Related Activities at the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno.
This advanced clinical training program is offered as optional education for veterinarians working in clinical veterinary medicine, aimed at deepening their knowledge in this field. Instruction is provided by experts from the university delivering an accredited master's degree program in veterinary medicine or veterinary hygiene, specialists from the State Veterinary Administration, private veterinarians, and other professionals with relevant expertise. The program is supervised by the Internal Evaluation Board at the University of Veterinary Sciences Brno, the Lifelong Education Council at the university level, and the program's guarantor at the individual program level.
The Advanced Clinical Training in Exotic Bird Diseases builds upon the foundational Clinical Training in Reptile, Bird, and Small Mammal Diseases. This second-tier program represents a higher level of complexity, focusing on specialized knowledge, skills, and expertise.
The aim of the program is to advance education to a specialized level, building on the foundational program, with a focus on the diseases of exotic birds.
